Michael Dunne is the primary driver behind HRG. He is a Veteran, global businessman, entrepreneur, owner of Hole in the Sky Ranch, co-owner of At Ease Equine Transportation, and founder of Equine Empowered Training (EET) a California 501(c)3 non-profit established in 2017.

The maternal side of his family were true pioneers, and he was raised in Utah and Southern California. Growing up, his summers and holidays were spent on a ranch, farm, or at the rodeo. Mike has been on horses since diapers, and his deep connection to them greatly influences his life, principles and leadership style. A cowboy to the core, Mike carries his vast knowledge of equine communication and “gentling” via natural horsemanship into his business success and “sense of service” to everyone he encounters. Mike has taken this knowledge and put it to use in public service with his 18 years in the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Volunteer Mounted Posse working hand-in-hand with the LASD and creating programs with at-risk children.

His horsemanship is dedicated to communicating with the horse through mutual trust, gentleness, and working within their language. He meets each horse where they are at, and works forward from there. He has a 100% success rate, and has saved many horses from being needlessly put down because they were labeled “too dangerous”.
